Cindy Aeby is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Chinese herbal therapist, NCCAOM diplomate, and member of the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, with over 30 years of healing experience. She received her Master Degree in Oriental Medicine from AOMA in Austin, Texas in 2006, and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.

She began helping (furry) patients in 1991 as a veterinary technician. Her decade of work in veterinary medicine provided her with a firm understanding of Western medicine. When she later discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2001, she knew she had found a healing system in which her passions: medicine, psychology, and nutrition, coalesced.

Cindy maintained a private acupuncture practice in Austin, Texas, from 2006 until 2020. In addition, she practiced for two years as an acupuncturist in an integrated healthcare clinic where acupuncture, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and massage were used in combination to provide each patient with a customized treatment plan. From 2012 to 2023, Cindy was delighted to be part of the team at The Neighborhood Acupuncture Project, providing community style, sliding scale treatments in East Austin.

Cindy is an Albuquerque native, and joining Community Acupuncture Albuquerque feels like coming home. Cindy wholeheartedly believes in community style acupuncture because it is affordable, accessible, and allows patients to derive the full benefit of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys making music, hiking, interior design, fashion, and Boston Terriers!

Nityamo Sinclair Lian graduated from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe in 1999. She received her Masters of Public Health in 2007 from the University of New Mexico. She has worked in health care for at least thirty years - first as a dental assistant, then as a shiatsu/acupressure practitioner, massage therapist and physical therapy assistant before becoming a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico.

After graduation, she joined the University of New Mexico's Department of Psychiatry and Department of Internal Medicine designing and implementing acupuncture research studies looking at acupuncture treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and at anxiety in women with breast cancer. Since 2001, she worked and volunteered extensively in public health acupuncture, specifically working with acupuncture for addictions using and teaching a simple ear acupuncture protocol.

In 2008, Nityamo co-founded Public Health Acupuncture of New Mexico (PHANM), a non-profit organization that helps make acupuncture more accessible in New Mexico. In 2009. She set up Community Acupuncture at Highlands clinic which has since become Community Acupuncture Albuquerque - our current clinic which gives more than 6000 treatments per year. The umbrella non- profit Public Health Acupuncture of NM coordinates ear acupuncture for addictions programs across NM and pre-Covid our affiliated programs gave over 8000 treatments a year. Nityamo is a member of the People's Organization of Community Acupuncture; Society for Acupuncture Research; NM Public Health Association; and the American Public Health Association.
